Delve Risk's Blog - Outpace the Market

WE PUT IT in THE NAME

We started as a consulting company. Not a platform, not a portal. A small team helping cybersecurity organizations understand the landscape of executive relationships and industry movement.

The first thing we built was a PDF. We called it Monthly Movers: a document tracking cybersecurity executives changing positions, moving inside organizations, or stepping away entirely. We gave it away. It was our way of saying: this information matters, and we want to be the ones who find it for you.

From there, we built our Delve Risk Snapshots™. Profiles of executives — who they are, what they care about, what drives their decisions. We were selling to sales teams in cybersecurity. The intelligence we were building was designed for the moment before a rep picks up the phone.

Then something unexpected happened.

One of our customers asked our Founder, Anthony Johnson, if he could share his personal cyber events calendar. AJ had been tracking cybersecurity events for himself — conferences, summits, dinners — because he understood how much of this industry moves in rooms, not inboxes. He shared it. The response made it clear that what he had built for himself was something other people needed.

That calendar became our Events Calendar, a product we still run today. From there, we built the Event Planner: a separate module designed to help field marketing teams orchestrate the full lifecycle of an event. And as we built it, something shifted.

The people who needed what we were building were not the sales reps we had been targeting. Cybersecurity sales teams are notoriously difficult to sell to. Not because the product was wrong, but because the buying motion was different. Meanwhile, field marketers in cybersecurity were asking for exactly what we were building. They were the ones designing the rooms, curating the guest lists, and running the programs that start the relationships that close the deals.

We made the full switch in January 2026. The target audience became field marketers in cybersecurity. The Event Planner evolved into Field Marketing Enablement™. By April, we had launched it as our newest module, and the name for the category we had been building without fully realizing it.

Which brought us to the word “Risk.”

It made sense when we were a consulting firm helping cybersecurity organizations navigate uncertainty. It made less sense as we built a platform that eliminates guesswork. Our data is verified. Our intelligence is curated. There is no risk in what we deliver. On the contrary, we reduce it.

But more than that: the word we had been living inside all along was not “Risk.” It was “in.”

Intelligence. Insights. Real interactions. Influence. Innovation. Information. Insider access. Introductions. Intel. OS-INT. It is in how we think. It is in the CYBE^R® Portal. It is in everything we do.

To delve in means to investigate, examine, and research something carefully and in depth. That is what we have been doing since the first PDF.

So we put it in the name.

DELVEin. No more Risk. Not that there ever was.
